"Not Knowing Is Not An Excuse"
Just something I want to see between them.
This is a beautiful piece of artwork with a meaningful message, but I have a question- how exactly was Nautica supposed to act towards Ravage, given that she has no prior interaction with sentient beasts? Obviously, her heart is in the right place, and her intention is pretty clear that she wants to deliver positive vibes, so how long is she supposed to be crucified for “not knowing”?
In this case, I would argue that “Not Knowing” is a perfectly acceptable reason for her actions, and since she has the best interests of everyone at heart, she took the proper steps after Megatron bashed her for not knowing to correct her knowledge of sentient beasts.
Good point. The now knowing is not an excuse here means even if you don’t know, but the damage is still done. There is a chinese proverb goes like “one who does not know is not guilty”, which means we should be more forgiving to those who really doesn’t know, and you can make things better once you know. And Nautica did the right thing.
Megatron and Ravage here wasn’t too harsh on Nautica because they know she is completely unaware and of course because they are under a more peaceful time (and Megatron supposedly changed for better, for now) so they are not too unforgiving. I mean, those who dare under-look Ravage in war time probably all paid with their lives.
thank you because seriously eabe i thought the same thing
nautica honey i love you but first time was a mistake but second you should have known better
also, wait—where is it said that nautica has had no interaction with beast-like creatures? didn’t she call ravage a “kitty”? wouldn’t that imply she knows what a cat is? were there only humanoids in her colony?
but either way nautica found out that ravage WAS sentient and sapient etc when she picked him up and he nearly clawed her face off but she STILL later pet him like a cat and he told her yeah don’t you know i don’t like that
There is no canon saying that Caminus has no one with beast mode, it’s just my way of figuring out an explanation why Nautica would think Ravage is just a “kitty” at the first sight.
If the “beast” looking creatures on Caminus are all non-sentient, then it’s logical for Nautica to think of Ravage as one at the first sight, which is understandable and forgivable because she really doesn’t know. But it’s not good for her to continue that mistake. She certainly means no harm, but to Ravage, it’s not just a harmless mistake, it’s a discrimination he personally suffers.
That’s why I really hope there will be something done about them. Maybe Ravage would be surprised? because during the war, people didn’t mess with him because he is dangerous and on high rank. It is different from being respected simply because you are a living person. There are so many things could be expressed through them, I hope it won’t go wasted.
So was this the list for the other Lost Light?
upon second look, i’m not so sure anymore. this list doesn’t quite correspond to the alt universe in #33. the Necrobot is supposed to record the deaths as he find the bodies, right? in which case, Hound and Drift’s names should not be apart like that. they would’ve been found together in the closet thingy.
(and if they’re recorded in chronological order, then it’s definitely off. Chromedome should be 2nd-to-last on the list, because the DJD kill the entire crew before him.)
or maybe they’re just minor details that JRo hope we’ll ignore?? maybe he just missed that himself? idk
It is, however, interesting to note that in the panel just before it
The Lost Light crew has been away for a year, and Ravage mentions watching Megatron sit and do nothing for about six months. So, while it might not be right in #33, there’s always the chance that something will happen later in the future.
Just to clear things up. I can’t find the actual tweet though??? I just found the screencap of this tweet elsewhere.
aaaah ok. so it’s just that the small details don’t quite work out. i’m glad he confirmed it, either way!!
BAM, called it
So… I tweeted JRo and asked him how long it took for the DJD to track down LL2 and he said “6 months”.
According to that info, I updated the timeline chart I previously made:
SSo LL2 was destroyed after #8, before #22. So none of the LL2 member experienced the Tyrest death switch except Rewind, who, according to my chart, may be staying on the LL2 wreckage for a year (it must be horrible).
The necrobot’s list of Autobots are LL2 members and it fits the time line. The only question is, has the Necrobot already visited LL2 and checked the names? If so, why he doesn’t visit Flywheels, who died earlier? How the death list work? Chronologically or????
Ok I make no sense, I am so confusing XP
Someone please ask JRo how long it is from #1 to #8?
